We are looking forward to seeing you and your Troop this weekend. The event is to be a fun filled outdoor experience for all who attend. There are a few items that all Scouts must bring with them to get the FULL Fun of the weekend.

  1.  10 x 12 or 9 x 9 Tarp  1 / Scout
  2.  5 x 7 tarp or ground cloth of this size 1/ Scout
  3. If able bring 1 rinsed out 2 litter pop bottle / Scout

No ground fires will be allowed on this camp out so please have a fire pit for your camp fire.

We will be having a HOBO Cook OFF Saturday night. Each Troop will receive food that they will prepare one meal on their new stoves they will make during the day. More details at the informational meeting on Friday Night.

Check in will be at the Mallard Shelter Friday Evening with a informational meeting at this shelter at 9 PM Friday night.

All events will be on Saturday. Each Scout will be making projects that they get to take home with them for this Camp O Ree.

I look forward to seeing you all there. This is also a great event to invite the Arrow of Light from your Pack to get to know Troop campouts. I think this would be a great recruiting weekend event.

See you there Scoutmaster Kris Hoogstraat

Below are some well thought out points from one of our great volunteers:

1 - The name of the organization is not changing. It will continue to be called "Boy Scouts of America".

2 - The name of one (out of 6) of our programs is changing from "Boy Scouting" to "Scouts BSA" to reflect the fact that young females will be allowed to join beginning February 1, 2019.

3 - Beginning February 1, 2019 in the Scouts BSA program girls and boys will be members of separate, girls-only or boys-only troops.

4 - Chartered Organizations (religious institutions and other community groups that sponsor individual troops) can choose whether to sponsor a male troop, a female troop, both, or neither.

5 - Young men and women have been successfully meeting, hiking, climbing, paddling, and camping together in co-ed groups within the Boy Scouts of America for the last 20 years through the Venturing program. Prior to that there was Coed High Adventure Exploring since 1971.
