Scouts, Venturers, and AOL Scouts are invited to the adventure and
challenge of the Fire and Ice Klondike Derby. Activities include reacting
to cold-weather emergencies, tying knots, running obstacles, building
campfires, having fun, and showing your outdoor skills knowledge. And,
of course, the Big Sled Race.
• The cost is $15/youth (Webelos free), $5/adult.
• Check-in 8:00-9:00 am; Flags and opening at 9:00 am.
• Annual Health and Medical Records for each participant (Parts A and
B) required at check-in.
• Each unit is responsible for providing their own lunch.
• Be dressed for weather conditions with proper winter clothing.
• Tent camping is encouraged. Call the Raymond Lee Scout Service

This year, there will be a lunch option for the Klondike Derby in the dining hall from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at an additional cost. The menu for lunch will be soup and sandwich. Reservations are required, in order to prepare the correct amount of food. Please RSVP to the office at michael.graham@scouting.org before 4:00 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The $5.00 meal fee can be paid in the office or at the event.
Items needed in Patrol Sled for Klondike Contests
Sled, Patrol Flag, Patrol First Aid Kit, 3 Six-foot-tall staves, 50 FT. of 3/8" rope, blanket, small tarp like a 5x7 or 10x10,drinking water for patrol, blind folds for each member of the patrol
Scout carry for the day:
6 FT. of lashing cordage, 10 essentials bag(look in Scout Manual for the 10 essentials), Dressed for the weather, NO TENNIS SHOES !!! Scout Manual, Compass, pocketknife, personal first aid kit, water bottle filled with drinking water (THIS IS A MUST HAVE PER SCOUT)
