Fundraising for your Unit

Oct - Popcorn - Each October, Scouts of all ages go door-to-door (and hit up your workplace) selling Trail's End popcorn. This is a tremendous fundraiser for your Unit; for most, it's all the funding a Unit might need for a year.

Mar - Candy Bars - An optional fundraiser many Units choose to do is sell candy bars. Often, the money raised by a Scout from selling candy bars stays in the Scout's own account (managed by the Unit) for the Scout to pay for summer camp or purchase camping equipment or a new Scout uniform.

Other fundraising (like a car wash) needs to be approved by the Council (for record keeping sake - if you break a tail light, who do you think they'll call to replace it?).

Fundraising for the Council

Did you know that Prairielands Council is 100% funded by donations from it's members and the community? The small registration fee a Cub Scout pays annually only covers the cost to include the Scout on BSA insurance (your Pack might charge a slightly higher fee to help fill their budget). All of the activities, programs, and training offered in the Council is funded though donation. To continue the tradition of Scouting in our community, we hope you become a Friend of Scouting.
