Top Scouting Awards Program

Congratulations to the Eagle Scouts and Summit Award recipients of the Prairielands Council for 2017. Show your support for these fine leaders of tomorrow at the annual Youth Recognition Dinner on February 17. Council Candy Sale Details

The Camp Candy Sale starts on Friday, February 23.  Please place your order for pick-up in either Champaign or Danville offices.  The Camp Candy Sale has changed to a new company with options to help your Scouts earn their way to summer camp

 

Leave No Trace Training

Camping season will be here before you know it and you should prepare yourself with a suite of Leave No Trace skills! The Leave No Trace Trainer Course is an informative, practical & fun workshop on the ethics and practices of minimum-impact recreation and travel. Prairielands Council is offering this weekend course March 2-3 at Camp Drake. Registration closes on February 16th, so register soon at https://www.campdrake.com/lnt before the course fills up. 

 

Council-Wide Service Project

If you’ve heard butterflies and bees are declining and you want to help them, now is your opportunity! Join with units from across the council to build pollinator gardens in our own communities. The Camp Drake ecology area is in need of improved program supplies and you can help! Units or individuals can help upgrade or supply equipment by purchasing or donating new or used items off of the following list.

Many Trails Meeting

The next meeting of the district will be held Thursday, February 8th at the Danville Scout office beginning at 6:30 pm.  All district committee members and unit commissioners are encouraged to attend this gathering.

 

PRAIRIE FIRE DISTRICT

 

ATTENTION ALL PACKS & TROOPS:   it is that time of the year again where you should be having your Blue & Golds Banquets, Crossover Ceremonies and  Court of Honors for the Scouts in your units and an opportunity for us here at the Council Office to do a Friends of Scouting (FOS) presentation.  We sincerely  say “THANK YOU” to each and every one of you that made a donation to the Family FOS campaign, it truly makes a difference because all of those dollars stay here in our Council to provide great programming, upkeep of Camp Drake, equipment for activities, and many more things.  If you have not already done so, please contact Lovetta Ash-Simpson at 217 531-0217 or Parker Arnholt at 217 531-0211 and gives us your Blue & Gold dates and court of Honors, we would like very much to do a short five minute presentation.

Arrow of Light Plaques

All Cub Scout pack leaders are encouraged to obtain colorful plaques displaying the name and year of the Arrow of Light recipients recognizing their achievement in earning the highest award in Cub Scouting.  Contact Program Clerk Susan Coller at (217) 356-7291, ext. 6441  to obtain plaques for your honored Cub Scouts.

ORDER OF THE ARROW

 

Troop Visit Training for Election and Camp Promotion Planning

It is election time once again. The Troop Visit Training will be held on Sunday Feb. 11th, beginning at 6:00 pm at the Illinois Fire Safety Institute on campus in Champaign.  This special workshop will educate arrowmen on the art of the election.  Plus, Camp Promotions info will be unveiled with the new promotional efforts on the REBOOT year. 

 

National Order of the Arrow Conference 2018 Lodge Flap and Chevron

The latest in Illini Lodge emblems are near to the Robeson Scout Shop in Champaign.   Check out the classic camp design of the impressive lodge symbols.  A special made emblem is helping the local arrowmen attending the 2018 National Order of the Arrow Conference.  ONLY  $55.00  per set, ONLY 55 emblems will be made.   All proceeds support the lodge contingent.

 

NOAC 2018
