PRAIRIE FIRE DISTRICT
PLEASE don’t let the last few weeks of school pass your unit by without an attempt to recruit more scouts to your unit. Lovetta Ash-Simpson is more than happy to do boy talks in your school, we can print flyers for you. We still have rockets and some fishing poles left to use as incentives. New Scouts really enjoy being able to do your fun summer activities with you even if your dens aren’t meeting. And for Boy Scouts and Venturers without all the conflicts of other school commitments.
Summer Cub Day Camp
Reminder, the regular registration period for all summer day camps is fast approaching. To avoid the late fee of $10 per scout you need to have all of your unit’s paperwork and fees turned in by May 19! And, yes, it takes some time to get all that paperwork together. Encourage all of your Cubs and families to participate in at least one of the summer day camps. Registration materials are posted on the Prairielandsbsa.org website.

Section Conclave Lodge Flap Design
Speaking of awesome new lodge flaps, how would you like to design one? Illini Lodge is hosting the 2017 Section Conclave from September 15-17 at Camp Drake and we're looking for designs for a special Illini Lodge flap to commemorate the event. Artistic talent is not required as even stick figure drawings can be turned into awesome patches by the design professionals. A weekend at the movies at Camp Drake is planned for the Section Conclave with the theme for this year of "Setting the Conclave Scene for 2017". Patch designs can be emailed to Illini Lodge Chief, Matt Brauer, at email@example.com. Get those designs submitted soon! The deadline for submissions is June 1st.
