New Registration System Ready for Boy Scout Summer Camp

Troop leaders should check their email in boxes over the next day or two for an email containing login information to Tentaroo.  This is the system Prairielands Council is using for Camp Drake summer camp merit badge class registration.

When first logging in, troop leaders should see their troop rosters of both youth and adults.  Anyone missing from the roster will need to be manually added.  The class portion of the registration system will automatically open at 9 am on February 1st for each troop that has already paid the $25/Scout deposit for summer camp.  Payments can also be made online via e-check or credit card.  If it's after 9 am on February 1st and your $25/Scout deposit hasn't been paid yet, paying online will immediately unlock the system for class registration.

A series of short instructional videos walking through each registration step will be available on campdrake.com in the next couple of days.  If you have any additional questions regarding the registration system, please contact Susan Coller at 217-531-0219 or susan.coller@scouting.org, Kurt Brown at kurtbrownie@gmail.com, or Parker Arnholt at parnholt@gmail.com.

Council Candy Sale Around the Corner

The Camp Candy Sale helps provide outdoor experiences for Scouts throughout the Prairielands Council.  This quick and easy fundraising opportunity will begin in February for any unit to help their youth attend summer camping programs.  Here are the top ways that the Camp Candy Bar Sale provides support for Scouts to enjoy the outdoors in June and July.

  1. Easy selling candy bars raise funds for Scout camping fees
  2. Scouts who sell candy will make an earlier commitment to attend camp, leading your program preparation time.  More preparation means a better outdoor experience.
  3. All candy sales staff members become eligible for council campership funds for additional support for Scouts in need.
  4. A portion of the Camp Candy sales proceeds will support the overall council camping operations,  helping to improve our outdoor facilities

ORDER OF THE ARROW

TROOP OR TEAM REPRESENTATIVE

Illini Lodge 55 is recruiting youth & adult arrowmen to serve in an important role in the lodge. Order of the Arrow Troop (or Team) Representatives are a youth liaison and his advisor serving between the local O.A. lodge and his unit. The representatives serve as a communication and program link to the unit Arrowmen, as well as adult leaders and Scouts who are not presently members of the Order. They do this in a fashion that strengthens the mission of the lodge and the purpose of the Order. By setting a good example, they enhance the image of the Order as a service arm to the troop or team.

Illini Lodge Speed Pass

The Illini Lodge excitement has never looked better planned for our local Brotherhood of Cheerful Service organization.  The fabulous Illini Lodge Speed Pass is available during the normal Robeson Scout Shop hours.  Beware the frantic shopping traffic on the north side of Champaign as you approach action central.    Only a limited supply of these   special honors has been made for Illini Lodge members.

2017 Lodge Plan Book

The 2017 edition of the Illini Lodge Plan Book is distributed to lodge members each year.  This guide to the local organization of the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service is a great resource for all arrowmen to be familiar with their involvement with the Order of the Arrow.  The plan book details the history of the lodge, the goals for the upcoming year, and the people involved with the various segments of lodge administration.  Get with the plan!
