Camp Trading Post Upgrade

All Scouts and Scouters in attendance at Camp Robert Drake this summer have noticed an upgrade in the outlook in central camp.  The wise customers in the camp store are looking much better as they walk out the Trading Post "Out" door with great looking Camp Drake t-shirts.  The highlighted fashion wear is the tiger-tie dye Camp Drake shirt.  The stylish appearance,  along with a tasty slushie, has been worn with a smile on the front porch of the T. Post.   All Scouts and Scouters are encouraged to visit on a family night in July, either 7/13,  7/20, or 7/26.  Special deals will start to arise as the summer seasons starts to wind down.

PRAIRIE FIRE DISTRICT

You do not want to miss this!  Come one, come all there is fun to be had, fellowship and POPCORN information and packets.  Sample the product.  This is information that you really want to share with your unit leadership and popcorn colonels.  It is definitely worth your time and effort to attend the popcorn kickoff and kickoff roundtable Wed. Aug. 10 at 6:30pm at the LDS Church on Windsor. Free fried chicken dinner for all who attend.  Click on the attachment for all the information.

Blast off into the fall!  We are getting into rocketry as an exciting addition to programming this fall.  In order to accomplish this safely we have training scheduled for leaders and district launch dates.  Each scout who joins Scouting this fall receives a rocket and engine and can participate in these activities.

Prairie Fire DistrictRocket Training” is September 14th @ Roundtable from 6:30pm-8:00pm Church of the Latter Day Saints in Champaign

Prairie Fire Launch Dates:  September 25th Cub Scout Fun Day @ Urbana Fairgrounds 1:00-4:00pm,

October 15th, Colbert Park in Savoy 10:00AM-12:00PM (Hopefully hosted by Local Rocket Club)

October 23rd,  Camp Drake Council Smilin’ Pumpkin (Council Wide Event) 1:00-4:00 Civil Air Patrol

We are doing one training at Roundtable (Sept. 14th) in hopes of getting more Cub leaders to attend if they so happen to want to have their own pack launch.
