COMPASS Day this Saturday
An activity filled day of Boy Scout Camp programs for any younger troop members and their parents from throughout the council. All newer Boy Scouts are invited to attend this special orientation, as well as their troop junior leaders and Scoutmasters. There is no fee for this event, but participants must register by Wednesday, April 2 to reserve their attendance. Activities start at 1:30 pm at the Friendship Circle.
FINAL DONATIONS FOR YARD SALE
Please bring any possible donations to help with the Camp Drake Yard Sale by this Thursday, April 3. You may drop off items at either the Danville Scout office, the Raymond Lee Scout Service Center in Champaign or at the Camp Drake dining hall. We also need donations of hangers. There will be free stuff! Door prizes will be given out every half hour. All shoppers will receive a free ticket for the drawings. The big prize will be given out at 3:00 pm (you don’t need to be present to win that one). Hope to see you at the Camp Drake Yard Sale from 8am-3pm in and around the dining hall at Camp Drake on April 5.
Is the Ultimate Outdoorsman in Your Troop?!
The events to test the skills of each Scout will be held at the North Fork Lodge near Danville on May 16-18, 2014. Make your way to the Many Trails Spring Camporee for the Ultimate Outdoorsman Challenge! Troop members will have the opportunity to try Shotgun shooting, Archery shooting, and Fishing, with BB gun shooting for the attending Cub Scouts. Troop events for the weekend will include a Walking Stick competition, a Dutch oven cook off judging after dinner and a best looking campsite competition, based on the best lay out, site neatness, and an entry gateway.
Many Trails Roundtable is April 10th!
The Many Trails District Roundtable for April is relocated to the 2nd Church of Christ on Lynch Road in Danville. The purpose is to allow for the different discussion topic options during the program. All participants will receive special program planning packets to assist their unit in setting their future events and meetings. The roundtable is on the second Thursday of April (4/10) from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Roundtable Highlights will include:

Scout Campership deadline is April 1st!
Summer program camperships are due to the Raymond Lee Scout Service Center, Box 6267, Champaign, IL, 61826-6267, by Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Forms are available through the camp website on the forms page. This deadline is critical with the upcoming fee deadline approaching in two weeks.
